About the Project

The client’s crisp brief entailed the requirement of a contemporary home that is modern yet firmly rooted in tradition. Staying true to our brief, we juxtaposed contemporary and traditional elements and materials in order to create a striking composition.

The entrance design features an elaborately carved solid teakwood door with an embossed round brass handle and traditional brass knobs akin to temple doors. A warm and welcoming lobby interior is highlighted by a backlit onyx wall feature, brass panelling, mirror with gold leafing, a statement lobby console crafted in stainless steel and inset linear lighting.

The living room design is a considered and cohesive way to blend traditional and contemporary furniture. On the one hand we have contemporary sofa seating with a modern and sleek design, a coffee table with a gold-leafed crevice and gold leafed end tables carved out of tree stump. On the other hand, two heavily carved wooden armchairs upholstered in embroidered fabric invoke a feeling of tradition.

The opulent theme continues in the dining room. The dining table crafted in solid wood base, exotic granite and gold leafing acts as the statement piece in the dining room.
